THINKING OF A CHALLENGE

Yesterday, believe it or not was my only rare free day, and I spent it parked in my bed watching conspiracy theories and ancient alien assumptions. I'm a geek I know, but least i have my boyf and AC as conspirators since were all into the same stuff. Well, i did get to update ze blog which made me happy. I know, every day would be more preferrable but it's sometimes impossible. Anyway, I've been playing around with this thing in my head for a couple of weeks now but never really got to post it till now.

I wanted more interaction from you guys, and I would believe that not only are you fashion savvy, you'd have the smarts to match. And thinking of how much we love all those slum book moments, answering every question with deep thought, hah, i figured i could post one question a week. And for the person who has the best answer, i will go through your blog (it's linked in the I.D. that you comment with) and grab a photo of you and post it here with your answer. Although in hindsight, i think i will also post a style challenge. Hirap ba? Anyway, for those who sign in under "anonymous", you can still join if you put in the link of your blog or your facebook page in the comment box.

Well, this is still in infancy, not really sure if it will work. but I hope it does, will iron the kinks out along the way. Are you guys interested?

My first question of the week is:
WHAT WOULD YOU NEVER DO FOR FASHION?

My answer:
I would never buy fake designer/luxury goods. If i cant afford it, then I wouldn't even pretend that i could. My parents always taught me that i should live beneath my means. Hard. But so much wisdom there.

Go!! I'm so excited to hear what you guys have to say.

Off to work now, believe it or not, were doing our cover shoot today. Enjoy your weekend!

I would never kill any person for fashion. LOL. I would also never wear anything that exposes my panties in full view to the public. More LOL!

...Same here. Buy ORIGINAL. Even if you can't afford the regular price, always save up for SALE season!Less 20%-40% is ok. Less 50% is wonderful. 60-70% Off better. Even better deal is always Less50% then Buy1+1...If you still have your size. And always buy classic style with a twist that you can still wear or use...every year till it breaks apart!

what i would never do for fashion? i would never follow those "what is appropriate to wear when you are this age" sort of fashion guides/tips. if i did i'd look na like a lola at my age! hahaha! i'm in my mid 40s but don't follow these things. i still look young for my age, and can still rock a lot of the younger looks so why follow? i know my limits naman, and don't want to look like nag-mi-midlife or "nagmumurang kamatis." but while i still can, i shop young! ;)

Our parents share the same sentiments. Buy what you can afford. With that said, I will never buy clothes, shoes, etc on credit. With buying the real deal, it's a matter of how one understands fashion. I buy designer clothes because I appreciate and applaud their genius. When I buy something from them, I feel like owning a piece of art, a masterful creation. The things I buy, I take good care of them, but nothing is too precious, so I wear them as much as I can. Fashion is about having fun, a medium of expressing yourself. Knock offs can only copy skin deep, and as they say, you are what you wear.

I would never compromise my personal style just to accommodate the current trends. Heehee. Stayin' true! Oh, and you're right. IF YOU CAN'T BUY IT, DON'T FAKE IT :)

I would never wear anything that is unflattering to my body type/skin tone even if it comes from the most expensive label or it is the IT trend. Fashion is about taking risks but not all risks are worth taking. :)

I would never give up my other priorities (like family) nor would I give up anything I believe in for fashion. I would never change who I am for fashion. I love fashion, but my beliefs, priorities, and who I am will never be second best to fashion.

I would never stop being creative. I would never wear anything that's not right for me just because everybody does. I would never buy clothes just for the brand.

I will never ever spend beyond my means. If I want something pricey, iL save for it instead of using the card. Most of the time by the time I have the money, I change my mind and I end up not buying that thing. Lol!

ps.
I saw you at SM Cebu during the holidays. You was with your mum at Mango. I was gonna ask to have a photo with you but I was 'starstruck'. -.-

i would never wear something i'm not comfortable in just because it's the New Trend. i'd rather not follow it and be unique.

I would never sacrifice style over something trendy that doesn't suit my body type. :)

i would never buy overly expensive things just to say I'm fasyon. I would never do that to blend in or be at par with other fasyon people. I would rather wear head to toe ukay and wear it with confidence than drown in debt. Hehe. :)

I definitely will not starve myself for fashion. Whether it means starving just to fit certain clothes or foregoing eating just to be able to afford a pricey fashion piece.

Achieve nga ang fashion pero mahihimitay ka naman sa gutom. Waley din in the end. Hahaha! :)

I would never buy ill-fitting shoes just because it looks gorgeous. Wa na care sa tiis ganda pagdating sa shoes.

What would you never do for fashion?

For us, to ignore or put it (Fashion) aside and dismissing it as mere frivolity and unneccessary. Aside from being an avenue of self expression, it is a manner of presenting one's self, not only to others but to life, examining and accepting the glorious and embarassing chapters. It challenges and taunts, exalts and humbles: the unseen hold of threads and fabric.

p.s.
a pleasure meeting you at Fashion Watch. superthanks

I would never pretend for fashion.

I will never buy or coax myself into liking anything just because of the label. A product being high end doesn't equate to it being of good quality, or even being pretty at all.

I would NEVER regret expressing who I am, with what I feel, and what I want, through the clothes that I wear. If trends die, expressions are timeless.
