ROLAND LIRIO SS09

Day Three
Luxe Wear Collection A
It was a neutral and earthy color palette over at the Lirio camp with a play on sheerness and metallics with gauzy layers and sequins, embellished with floral appliques and embroideries. If that sounds a bit too much it was all balanced out by the tone on tone cohesiveness of all elements resulting in an almost couture but still very wearable, pretty pieces.

The designer calls it "East Contempo", explaining that it's all about the Asian contemporary woman, with a tone range that blends well with Asian skin. A nude tube dress adorned with blooming appliques on the side is hemmed by a marabou-ish splay of distressed chiffon, a shirred off shoulder top comes with a pencil skirt with pleated and floral detail, and there's this season trend of jodphurs favored by editors in beaded waistbands and trouser lengths. But the coup de grace for this collection is the sequin drapes and patterns that comes in an off shoulder style and a simple tank top. Not only does it look absolutely fantastic with the paired jodphurs and floor length metallic/sheer skirt, it also would look great in a bling rock chic-Balmain kind of way, when pared down with just jeans, black tights or otherwise casual wear of choice.
