Yup, its that time of the year again--the time where I try to give up food and crash diet a week before the Preview Ball. It doesn't help that I'm a foodie to the nth. I realized that when I did Master Cleanse and only lasted for three days. In the lull where my mind wasn't preoccupied, i daydreamed about burgers, pasta and steak. Screw willpower, I want my carbs. Heeh. But how am I going to fit in my dreesss??? Waaah.
Here are the schedules, Preview back to back parties, STRICTLY BY INVITATION ONLY:
July 7 (Thursday): TOPSHOP 10th Anniversary
July 8 (Friday) : PREVIEW BEST DRESSED BALL
Which means I won't be eating this for awhile, mushroom and truffles in fresh homemade pasta from Va Bene . Sooooo good.
Or this, shrimp and pumpkin gnochi. Yuuuum.
Maybe I can still have this:
But definitely not this. Sigh.
For those not on a diet and craving for some good Italian:

FASHION WATCH CLOSING SHOW
Was Ivarluski Aseron and Joey Samson. Thought it was really fitting that their designs ended the Fashion Watch Series. Their collections were both strong and beautiful. The type that made me (and I'm sure a whole lot of other women) want to rush backstage and make pakyaw all the clothes. Sorry that there's only Ivar's here. My cam bat was gasping for air already, and we were suppose to go to another event that night, Lourd De Veyra's book launch in Katipunan. But because it was stormy, wet, flooded and traffic everywhere, we had to turn back. I had to wait it out in the mall, hence my next blog post down there. Anyway, on to the show.
Ivarluski's pieces had statement rear details, like this leather jacket with scrunched up wings.
Some Rick Owens spotting on Kaye Tinga.
Mond, Mike, Carlos
Was happy to bump into Liz, haven't seen her in ages!!! And oh, I have a new haircut. Heeh.
Thats eeet, pansit.

BACK TO SKULL
Aside from the witty pun, Swatch in collaboration with Jerome Lorico is on exhibit at Greenbelt 5. We accidentally stumbled on Jerome brainstorming with Noel Manapat for the next series. This one is the 3rd of 5 installations. Signature Lorico knits on skeletal frames, a bit eerie but a damn cool visual. Wanted to take more images but camera died on me. So I guess this will have to do.

UNA ROSA SS2011
In full fairness, super bet ko ang campaign ng Una Rosa ha. Pang international lang. Parang I want to go and buy the pieces na. All campaigns should look as good as this, even better if they were advertised in a spread in Preview--very much like the seasonal shoots of international labels. If this brand did, I imagine it to look like these...Put in the Una Rosa logo and youre good to go.
Loved the lookbook also!

BANGKOK
Had a press trip to Bangkok about two weeks ago. The last time I was in Thailand, it was more of seeing the sights: giant buddhas, wooden palaces, the pre-requisite trip to the jewelry factory. But now it was more of an intimate glimpse.
New discovery on the GF2, this setting is called shadows. Coolnest.
We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental. My room had a view of the river. Loved how cozy it was.
Lobby.
Raul recommended this cafe, a diffusion of the Greyhound brand in Siam Paragon.
The food was fantastic--visually as well as to the palate.
I ordered sardines and chilli--an Italian and Thai fusion. Without garlic of course, spent a good 5 minutes explaining that to the waiter. Haha.
Dinner was at the China House where they had couture appetizers.
Buffet breakfast beside the river. It looked murky but the river was really clean. We took that ornate looking barge to go to our Spa appointment on the other side. The trip took about two minutes.
If there's one thing that you should definitely spend money on, it's the Traditional Thai Massage at the Oriental. It's to.die. for! This was my massage room.
Shopped till I dropped here. Siam Center where they had all the local Bangkok Designers in 4 floors. Even forgot to eat lunch.
Just in case anybody wants to have "Transformers" tattooed in Thai, here's your peg. Heeeh.
The End.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOTHER
Today is Paulines birthday. We celebrated it a week early in our pre-production meeting with a surprise party complete with hats, balloons and cake, because you know--it's a childrens party like dut. Heeh. At least for Vince and I anyway. Haha. The adultness came in the form of Champagne and Vodka. Cheers! They say we all work to eventually become like our bosses, and if that means I'll be emulating Pauline, then one day i will be a good mentor, respected, with a fair judgement in everything, who trusts the talents of my team, has incredible foresight and a quick and firm decision in everything. Bow.
