DC TO EAIRTH
Eeeeek, I soooper missed Issy! Fresh from New York and too busy to see me *pout*, we only touched base recently because her sister Jojo will be here for a three week vacation. A bit of history: When Issy and I were still single, we were each others wingwoman. We'd hit the town three times a week--mind you, not for boys--but to drink and dance. But we got into relationships around the same time so that killed big night outs, free time now is spent either catching up on sleep or having quiet dinners. Ugh. How boring. So this instant girls night was an interesting break in the pattern. It wasn't really hard to get back to my rhythm though, wear something short, add a touch of edge, and wear my highest heels. Bam! Grab, phone, credit card, car keys, and we're off!
Jojo and Issy both in love-their-own Eairth. I swear I look too pale when I'm beside the Dizons. Ugh.

GOODBYE IWI
Our Deputy Managing Editor for special projects Eloise Alba--one of the most chica girls I know--left already. To Canada to be with her fiance. It was a hard decision since she had a budding career here and the future was bright, while Canada remains uncertain, but she once told me, "I won't regret anything if I choose love." So ako, bow. It takes courage and trust to leave stability and face something new with the one that you love. So good luck Iwi, we will miss you.

Deputy Managing Editors unite! Lyca of Preview and Eloise of Preview Special Projects.

The team. Well, sort of.

Goodluck!!! Elle Canada na itooohhhhh!!!!

Kalurky, least it wasn't the: oh-my-god-we-have-the-same outfit shit, we were all rocking it individually. Thank God. And mega pa witty pa ako kay Vince, the reason why we were all in skins was because the play was sponsored by PETA. But then as it turns out, it wasn't the Ethical Treatment of Animals pala, but the Educational Theater Association. Heeeeeh. My bad. It would have been witty though, aminin mo.
Okay lets start with the count then:
1. Laureen

2. AC

3. Vianka

4. Rach

5. Liz

6. Pauline

7. Girl 1

8. Girl 2

9. Me. But i don't have a photo, sorry. Heeh.

Your wish is our command! For those who wanted an alternative face on the cover--besides favorite celebrities--we've placed a super on this month! Ford supermodel of the WORLD Danica Magpantay shows what it takes to break it in the modeling capital of New York. And it's not only one super showing of her powers, Chat Almarvez and Charo Ronquillo are also inside in our cover feature all wearing Jerome Salaya Ang. Plus we've segued that to the best collections from Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011--reworked Preview style. Yep, its all about fashion this month baby! (like there ever was a time when it wasn't, ahehehe) Plus products, features and editorials that's worth all your glorious one hundred fifty bucks.
And not that I'm playing favorites, but then this cover is darker, edgier and fiercer than most. I <3/like/love. What do you guys think?

BDOTW OR BEST DRESSED OF THE WEEK
Goes to Ge! Wheee! Okay, i will try to pick a best dressed every week. Good luck nalang diba? I can't even update my blog weekly may pa best dressed, best dressed pa akong nalalaman. Eh bat ba. Basta, I like. I just wish i can photograph as much subjects as I can given my schedule. Waaaaah. But yes, I will try my bestest. *squinty eyed and determined*
Ge explains that his outfit is authentic vintage. Taken from his moms baul. I'm a fan of pattern on pattern and this is how you do it right. Pick a color and use that as a base to complement the top and bottom. Love that chain print on the trousers too, Chanel circa 90s?

CULTURE CLUB
Two weeks ago, it was a massive dose of art. Two Cinemalaya films and the CAREDIVAS play. Is it obvious that I don't read the papers much? I've never heard of it till Ronald of F&H invited us. Rumor is, the shows sold out--scheduled times bought out by sponsors--so if you want to get a ticket, you go through the company that bought the show. Well, at least ours were house tickets care of F&H, so thank you Ronald, Alan and Mikko! =)
Have to say though that Care Divas was amazing. Won't be writing about it if it didn't move me. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good dose of musical, comedy and drama, baklerz way. Haha. You know how some say I'm more bading than most, well I guess I am because I understood all the innuendos and hidden jokes, not even sure if most got it because it was heavy with gay lingo and humor, but I felt right at home. Heeeeh.
Heres the set, our seats were right smack in the center.

Watched it with AC and Epoy.

Nino and Vince.

AC super loved it that he wanted to have a photo with the cast.

Underneath all that maquillage is make-up artist Ricci Chan. I didn't even know that he did theater, but apparently he did Rent. I was blown away by his performance. If ever you are planning to watch, make sure that he is in the billing.

Photo op, wahehehehe. The guy beside me, Vincent De Jesus wrote the script and the songs of the whole play. He's soooo galing!

Lest you think that the night was over, nooooooooooo. It was Paolo's despedida. From QC to Makati all in one night.

Pao! Take New York by storm!
A bit of history, one of the major reasons why I'm writing for Star is because of Pao. I moved to Supreme only for him to leave for Young Star. Waah. Thanks ha.

Mich!

It was suppose to be game night, but nobody wanted to play except Karen and I. The two most competitive girls that night. Haha, Hi Karen! We eventually wrangled a good team to pit against each other. First up: Cranium.

With Raymond Angas!

Breather.

And dancing involved.

Second game of the night: Taboo. I swear this is a writers game. It was the Young Star staff versus us in Publication. Love! If you haven't played it, you have your team mates guess the word on the topmost part of the card without saying any of the 5 taboo words in the lower part. For someone who likes putting pen to paper, there are a dozen alternative ways of saying one word--and with everyone in the teams either in the broadsheet or the glossy, everyone was in their fight zone. Haha. We won though! Hahaha

And baket may sardinas? Going away present daw: caviar. Kalurks.

Good luck Pao! I'm sure you'll do great. Didn't I always say so?

MEXICAN BORDERS
Remember i was telling you guys about that bad Mexican resto that I'm never going to go to again? Well, heres the complete story. It's this small resto at the Fort, that area where Embassy used to be. We wanted to try it out since it was new and conveniently enough, that time, Fete dela Musique was held in the same general area. So there we were ready for a good night out. We ordered, boyf and i, same time, me first, then him. And then we sat down and waited for our food.
Good thing Paolo L and company was there so the conversation was good, we didn't realize the time. But my order, a taco, got to our table after 30 minutes. That's not yet the bad part. Given that that was Fete dela Musique and the resto was packed. I understand. What I don't understand is how boyf's order which came right after mine wasn't served immediately after. And then i saw how people that were in line after us all got theirs complete already. So, (this was after 45 minutes from the ordering), i go up to the counter to ask why our order wasn't there yet, and the cashier (in charge of the order slip line up), had the nerve pa to be angry. No apology. Nothing. They forgot it completely. It was the waiter pa, who wasn't involved in the whole thing that said sorry. Err, parang, he had more manners pa.
And then when it was already an hour and still no Taco in sight (how hard is it to make a Taco?) i asked to speak to the manager. And the manager comes, listens to me halfheartedly, says a half-ass sorry and leaves. And guess what, the Taco still doesn't come. It came after 20 minutes. Like. Seriously. Seriously?! ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES? I could have baked a cake! That manager could have handled it better, we waited for an hour already when i talked to him, a gracious bowl of chips or something sent our way would have showed they care enough to think about the customer. But as it is. Nothing. NOTHING!! I just couldn't believe that we waited an hour and a half for Tacos. Sana steak nalang diba? or Lechon? Siguro luto na yun after and hour and a half? Gaaaah. Tear hair out moment.
Anyway, on the good side, that same week, we discovered Chihuahua! Unlike the other resto that remains unnamed, Chihuahua is fast service and SUUPPPEEER good too. As en. Its as simple as the 1-4 steps.
Step 1: pick your meat. (Get the Pork!)
Step 2: choose how you want it: Taco? Burrito? Burrito bowl? Salad?
Step 3: if you want some more add-ons, like nachos or a chili bowl.
Step 4: what do you want to drink?

And they have a wall of fiery sauces. I die.

I got the burrito bowl, so good even AC loved it. And he doesn't like a lot.

And the Nacho Grande, with the sauces on the side since i don't like onions.

Didnt get a photo but the Chili is the best I've ever tasted. Like how best? I was there three times last week. Hehehehe. Its thick, rich, beany and spicy on top of a bed of Mexican rice. And not only that, their Margaritas managed to smooth out my heartache (which i unbelievably had for the whole of last week). Not. Exaggerating. You need to try it to believe.

LONDON CALLING
Everyone knows that we did back to back parties this year for our anniversary. Months prior to the two bacchanalian debaucheries, I've already taken my liver out for push-ups. Muscled and fit so that the free flowing alcohol could be met with proper exercise and stamina. Heeeh.
The Topshop party was the first, of course British high street would be the uniform. I went in feminine boho. Although my first pick was just a white frock and a leather cropped jacket. Effortless. British. (I only wanted to get drunk and party in an easy ensemble!) But one look from Vince (we picked our outfits together) and he goes, uh, NO!! He said: "I imagine you in a maxi skirt with lots of layers, this white dress is sooooo not you." FINE.
Hence the final outfit choice: a deep-v caftan, layered with a ruffled top, and still layered some more by a printed poncho. I cinched the dress with a lilac leather obi and added the floppy hat. I mean, if I'm going in bohemian luxe, i might as well take it all the way. So here we go!! =)
Shouldn't it be fish and chips? ahihihihi.

Pick your poison. Didn't notice it then, but were the drinks supppose to reflect the British flag?

The boys were the early birds. DJ Mars provided the first of the nights soundtracks.

Cholo Dela Vega looking dapper, and oddly missing his camera.

I see Prada brogues.

Mond and his checkered on checkered look.

Happy Andrada (on right) with her sister.

Anna Canlas, our Fashion Assistant and resident "hubadera" in a 40s Slims dress reproduced by Slims student Tsarina Inocian with designer Tina Daniac.

Olivia Soriano and Pia Abad of SM.

One of my favorite outfits of the night, Bea Soriano in a classic LBD made British by a fascinator. Here with Eric Dee.

Divine looking divine!

Fantastic four! Super talented designers Noel Crisostomo, Jerome Ang, Chris Diaz and Joel Escober.

It's all in the details, version Epoy.

Its the O Gang! Di pa to complete!

Liz in an Ivarluski Aseron jacket and YSL Tribs.

I love Robi Lolin and M Barretto!

Si palaka Julius Tarog looking surprisingly proper.

M&M. Mano wearing M Barretto. Ultra love that jacket.

First look at ACDCs outfits. Maxi skirt on me, thorn on AC. Haha. Here with M, Julius and Jot Losa.

The surprise DJ of the night didn't want to use the house equipment, so they had to take it out.

And replaced it with his own deck. Whoooaaaaaa.

Its Sam Milby!

Setting up.

And getting the party started. In fairness, it was a good mix of danceable pop, the kind thats best when its taken with heaps of alcohol.

FUN!

Raffy, Pauline, Eugene and Vince. Sorry mother, i think i pushed your face there a bit with my floppy hat, Actually, i just realized that wearing a hat with a brim that wide makes you lose friends. They cant really come close. Hahahaha.

And this was how it was as the night progressed. Bum, Earl, Roy.

Emman!!!

Thank you to Omar Ermita of Shu Uemura for making me pretty that night.

And thank you to our fabulous publisher Tara! (on far left) I know you said you didn't want to be seen in my blog but sorry, can't help. You make the parties happen!! Congratulations! Hehehehe.
